Subject: | 1997-2004 Chevrolet Corvette Easy Exit Feature Explanations |
Models: | . |
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in the PI.
The easy exit feature is different between the 1997 through 2000 model year vehicles and the 2001 and newer vehicles. This feature, which is part of the memory seat option, would command the driver's seat to the full rearward and down position upon exit on the 1997 through 2000 model year vehicles.
Subsequently, the 2001 and up model year easy exit feature does not move all the way back and down. The seat is commanded to move only 60 millimeters (12.7 millimeters equal one half inch) rearward from the memory position being used by the driver. This position cannot be changed to travel farther back or forward from this position unless the memory position is changed.
No repairs should be attempted as this is a normal operating characteristic of the model year vehicle.
