Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 675295  Size: SH
  1. Remove the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement .
  2. Remove the heat shield retainer at the upper plenum.

  3. Object Number: 675299  Size: SH
  4. Remove the heat shield retainer at the wheelhouse panel.
  5. Remove the battery heat shield.
  6. Remove the right rear spark plug wire.

  7. Object Number: 201660  Size: SH
  8. Remove the battery cable clips.

  9. Object Number: 675315  Size: SH
  10. Remove the negative battery cable ground nut.
  11. Remove the negative battery cable ground lead (1).

  12. Object Number: 675302  Size: SH
  13. Remove the battery cables (1) from the engine wiring harness insulator.
  14. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General information.

  16. Remove the negative battery cable terminal bolt and terminal (1).
  17. Lower the vehicle.
  18. Remove the negative battery cable.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 675303  Size: SH
  1. Install the negative battery cable.
  2. Raise the vehicle.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    Important: Ensure that the engine harness ground terminal is positioned behind the negative cable terminal prior to bolt installation.

  4. Install the negative battery cable terminal (1) and bolt.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the negative battery cable terminal bolt to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  6. Lower the vehicle.

  8. Install the battery cables (1) to the engine wiring harness insulator.

  9. Object Number: 675315  Size: SH
  10. Install the negative battery cable ground lead (1).
  11. Install the negative battery cable ground nut.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the negative battery cable ground nut to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  13. Install the battery cable clips.
  14. Install the right rear spark plug wire.

  15. Object Number: 675299  Size: SH

    Important: Ensure that two fingers of the heat shield bracket are on either side of the heat shield, and the shield is inserted into the notch in the insulator.

  16. Install the battery heat shield.
  17. Install the heat shield retainer at the wheelhouse panel.

  18. Object Number: 675295  Size: SH
  19. Install the heat shield retainer at the upper plenum.
  20. Install the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement .
