Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 222050  Size: SH
  1. Remove the engine sight shields.
  2. Remove the fuel rail assembly. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 492232  Size: MH

    Important: Access to the MAP sensor is limited, but does not require the removal of the intake manifold.

  4. Remove the PCV heat exchange cable fastener (3).
  5. Remove the PCV hose (2) from the throttle body.
  6. Remove the PCV hose (5) from the right bank port.
  7. Release the PCV hose assembly from the mounting brackets (4).
  8. Move the PCV hose assembly (1) aside.

  10. Disconnect the MAP sensor harness connector.

  11. Object Number: 58838  Size: SH
  12. Pull the MAP sensor forward in order to release the sensor from the retainer.
  13. Lift the MAP sensor upward.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 58838  Size: SH

    Important: 

       • Inspect the MAP sensor seal for damage. Replace the seal if necessary.
       • Lightly coat the MAP sensor seal with clean engine oil before installing the sensor.

  1. Install the MAP sensor. Push down the sensor in order to engage the sensor into the retainer.

  2. Object Number: 55819  Size: SH
  3. Connect the MAP sensor harness connector.

  4. Object Number: 492232  Size: MH
  5. Position the PCV hose assembly (1) for reassembly.
  6. Insert the PCV hose assembly to the mounting brackets (4).
  7. Install the PCV hose (5) to the right bank port.
  8. Install the PCV hose (2) to the throttle body.
  9. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  10. Install the PCV heat exchange cable fastener (3).
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the PCV heat exchange cable fastener to 12 N·m (106 lb in).

  12. Install the fuel rail. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly Replacement .
  13. Install the engine sight shields.
