J 34730-1A Fuel Pressure Gauge

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 155410  Size: SH
  1. Relieve the fuel system pressure before servicing any fuel system connection. Refer to the Fuel Pressure Relief .
  2. Caution: Wear safety glasses when using compressed air in order to prevent eye injury.

  3. Using compressed air, blow any dirt out of the quick-connect fitting.

  4. Object Number: 12777  Size: SH

    Important: Plastic quick connect fittings can be released either by squeezing the plastic retainer release tabs (step 3) or by using the appropriate J 37088-A Fuel Line Quick Connect Separator Tool (step 4).

  5. Squeeze the plastic retainer release tabs.

  6. Object Number: 12780  Size: SH
  7. Choose the correct tool from the J 37088-A Tool Set for the size of the fitting. Insert the tool into the female connector, then push inward in order to release the locking tabs. The plastic retainer will remain on the female connector.

  9. Pull the connection apart.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 155425  Size: SH

    Caution: Always apply a few drops of clean engine oil to the male pipe ends before connecting the fuel pipe fittings in order to reduce the risk of fire and personal injury. This will ensure proper reconnection and prevent a possible fuel leak. During normal operation, the O-rings located in the female connector will swell and may prevent proper reconnection if not lubricated.

  1. Apply a few drops of clean engine oil to the male fuel pipe end.

  2. Object Number: 21855  Size: SH
  3. Push both sides of the quick-connect fitting together in order to cause the retaining tabs/fingers to snap into place.

  4. Object Number: 155399  Size: SH
  5. Once installed, pull on both sides of the quick-connect fitting in order to make sure the connection is secure.
