Removal Procedure

    Caution: To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death when major components are removed from the vehicle and the vehicle is supported by a hoist, support the vehicle with jack stands at the opposite end from which the components are being removed and strap the vehicle to the hoist.

  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the left hand side lower close-out panel.

  3. Object Number: 59580  Size: SH
  4. Remove the hoses from the AIR pump.
  5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the AIR pump.
  6. Remove the AIR pump mounting bolts from the bracket.
  7. Remove the AIR pump.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the AIR pump.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the mounting bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the AIR Pump bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  5. Connect the electric connector to AIR pump.

  6. Object Number: 59580  Size: SH
  7. Connect the hoses to the AIR pump.
  8. Install the left hand side close-out panel.
  9. Lower the vehicle.
  10. Verify the AIR system for proper operation.
