Removal Procedure
- Drain
the coolant. Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling
in Engine Cooling.
- Using the J 38185
,
release and reposition the outlet heater hose clamp.
- Separate the outlet heater hose from heater pipe.
- Using the J 38185
,
release and reposition the outlet heater hose clamp away from the coolant surge
tank.
- Separate the outlet heater hose from surge tank inlet.
- Remove the outlet heater hose from the
vehicle.
- Remove the retaining strap (1), which retains the heater inlet hose
(2) to the evaporator tube - front.
- Separate the inlet heater hose from heater pipe.
- Using the J 38185
,
release and reposition the inlet heater hose clamp away from the engine coolant pump.
- Separate the heater inlet hose from coolant pump.
- Remove the inlet heater hose from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Using a lint-free clean, dry cloth, carefully clean the sealing surfaces of
the heater outlet pipe end, and the coolant surge tank inlet.
- Install a new retaining strap (1) to retain
the heater inlet hose (2) to the evaporator tube - front.
Position the retaining strap as shown.
- Install
the outlet heater hose to the heater outlet pipe.
- Using the J 38185
,
install the heater hose clamp.
Align the heater hose clamp as shown.
- Install the outlet heater hose to the coolant surge tank.
- Using the J 38185
,
install the heater hose clamp.
Align the heater hose clamp as shown.
- Refill the cooling system. Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling
in Engine Cooling.
