J 41099 Gear Select/Reverse Lockout Solenoid Socket

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Disconnect the gear select solenoid electrical connector.

  3. Object Number: 1887548  Size: SH
  4. Using the J 41099 , remove the gear select solenoid.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1887548  Size: SH

    Notice: Replacement components must be the correct part number for the application. Components requiring the use of the thread locking compound, lubricants, corrosion inhibitors, or sealants are identified in the service procedure. Some replacement components may come with these coatings already applied. Do not use these coatings on components unless specified. These coatings can affect the final torque, which may affect the operation of the component. Use the correct torque specification when installing components in order to avoid damage.

  1. Using the J 41099 , install the gear select (skip shift) solenoid.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the gear select solenoid to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).

  3. Connect the gear select solenoid electrical connector.
  4. Lower the vehicle.
