Inside Rearview Mirror Replacement Base

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 171538  Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the inside rearview mirror electrical connector.
  2. Loosen the mirror mount tension screw.
  3. Slide the mirror up off the mirror bracket.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 171538  Size: SH
  1. Slide the rearview mirror down onto the bracket.
  2. Connect the electrical connector.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Tighten the mirror tension screw.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the rearview mirror mount tension screw to 1.5 N·m (13 lb in).

Inside Rearview Mirror Replacement DD8

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 375840  Size: SH
  1. Remove the electrical connector (1) from the back of the inside rearview mirror .

  2. Object Number: 161480  Size: SH

    Important: Do NOT pull rearward on the mirror while removing the mirror or damage to the support and/or windshield will occur.

  3. Rock the mirror from side to side pushing upward firmly.
  4. An audible click is heard when the inside rearview mirror is releasing from the support.

  5. Remove the inside rearview mirror support.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the electrical connector (1) to the back of the inside rearview mirror.

  2. Object Number: 161476  Size: SH
  3. Perform the following steps to install the inside rearview mirror:
  4. 2.1. Center the bottom of the inside rearview mirror on the support.

            Important: Do NOT pull rearward on the mirror while installing the mirror or damage to the support and/or windshield will occur.

    2.2. Rock the inside rearview mirror from side to side while pushing downward firmly. Take care not to damage the windshield.
    2.3. An audible click is heard when the inside rearview mirror is fully seated.
