Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 71292  Size: SH
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  3. Remove the wheelhouse filler panel.

  5. Remove the rear inner panel.

  6. Object Number: 71256  Size: SH
  7. Remove the fender opening to the wheelhouse bolt.

  8. Object Number: 71258  Size: SH
  9. Remove the fender to the rocker panel bolt.
  10. Remove the fender rear center flange to the hinge pillar bolt.

  11. Object Number: 63701  Size: SH
  12. Remove the fascia front close-out panel. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Lower Close Out Panel Replacement in Bumpers and Fascias.

  13. Object Number: 63693  Size: SH
  14. Remove the bolts attaching the fascia to the skid bar.
  15. Remove the headlamp housing. Refer to Headlamp Capsule Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  16. Lower the vehicle.

  18. Remove the fender to the wheelhouse upper front flange bolts.

  19. Object Number: 71261  Size: SH
  20. Remove the fascia to the fender reinforcement studs nuts.

  21. Object Number: 71258  Size: SH
  22. Remove the fender to the upper hinge pillar fender bracket bolt.

  23. Object Number: 71264  Size: SH
  24. Remove the fender to the upper wheelhouse flange screws.
  25. Remove the fender.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 71264  Size: SH
  1. Position the fender with the fender reinforcement to the vehicle.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Starting at the rearmost hole, install the fender to the wheelhouse upper flange screws.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the fender to upper flange screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  5. Install the fender to the wheelhouse upper front flange screws.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the fender to upper front flange screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  7. Install the fender to the upper hinge pillar fender bracket screw.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the fender to the upper hinge pillar bracket screw to 4 N·m (36 lb in).

  9. Install the fender's rear center flange to hinge pillar screw.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the fender to center flange screw to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  11. Install the bottom of the fender to the rocker panel screw.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the fender to the rocker panel screw to 3 N·m (27 lb in).

  13. Install the fender opening to the wheelhouse screws.
  14. Tighten
    Tighten the fender to the wheelhouse wheel opening screws to 3 N·m (26 lb in).

  15. Align the fender to the front fascia.
  16. Install the front fascia to the fender reinforcement studs nuts.
  17. Tighten
    Tighten the fascia to the fender reinforcement stud nuts to 7 N·m (62 lb in).

  18. Install headlamp housing. Refer to Headlamp Capsule Replacement in Lighting Systems.

  19. Object Number: 63701  Size: SH
  20. Install the front fascia close out panel. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Lower Close Out Panel Replacement in Bumpers.

  21. Object Number: 154683  Size: SH
  22. Install the rear inner panel.
  23. Tighten
    Tighten the rear inner panel bolts to 2 N·m (18 lb in).


    Object Number: 71279  Size: SH
  24. Install the wheelhouse filler panel.

  25. Object Number: 63693  Size: SH
  26. Install the fascia to skid bar bracket bolts.
  27. Tighten
    Tighten the fascia to skid bar bracket bolts to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

  28. Install the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
