Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Door Trim Panel Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 164499  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector to the mirror wire harness.
  4. Caution: Approved safety glasses and gloves should be worn when performing this procedure to reduce the chance of personal injury.

  5. Remove the mirror face. Refer to Outside Rearview Mirror Glass Replacement .
  6. Remove the screws from the mirror motor.
  7. Pull the motor electrical harness through the mirror housing.

  9. Remove the motor from the mirror housing.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 742277  Size: SH
  1. Position the motor to the mirror housing.
  2. Pull the motor electrical harness through the mirror housing to the inside door panel.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the screws to the mirror motor.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the mirror motor screws to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  6. Install the mirror face to the mirror housing. Refer to Outside Rearview Mirror Glass Replacement .

  7. Object Number: 164499  Size: SH
  8. Connect the electrical connector to the mirror wire harness.
  9. Check the operation of the mirror.
  10. Install the door trim panel. Refer to Door Trim Panel Replacement .
