Removal Procedure
- Remove the front floor
kick-up panel. Refer to
Front Floor Kick-Up Panel Replacement
in Interior Trim.
- Remove the cover from theinstrument panel (IP) electrical center.
- Remove the RDO/ANT MiniFuse® #24 from the IP electrical center.
- Remove the IP left lower insulator panel. Refer to
Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side
in
Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
- Disconnect the electrical/audio connector from the Bose® signal
processing module.
Important: The signal processing module is only held in place by retaining bolts.
Be sure to support the signal processor upon removal of the bolts.
- Remove the bolts retaining the Bose® signal processor to the steering
column bracket.
- Remove the signal processing module.
Installation Procedure
- Install the Bose®
signal processing module into position on the steering column bracket.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the Bose® signal processing module retaining bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the Bose® signal processing module retaining bolts to 2.5 N·m
(22 lb in).
- Connect the electrical/audio
connector to the signal processing module.
- Install the IP left lower insulator panel. Refer to
Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side
in
Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
- Install the RDO/ANT MiniFuse® #24 to the IP electrical center.
- Install the cover to the I/P electrical center.
- Install the front floor kick-up panel. Refer to
Front Floor Kick-Up Panel Replacement
in Interior Trim.
