Removal Procedure

If necessary, the rear compartment lift window panel may be manually released by pulling on the manual release cables located behind the cargo compartment rear corner carpet panels. Access the cables through the slots in the corner carpet panels.

  1. Open the rear compartment lift window panel.
  2. Remove the rear floor side stowage compartment cover.

  3. Object Number: 64673  Size: SH
  4. Remove the rear/end corner carpet trim panel. Refer to Rear Corner Trim Panel Carpet Replacement in Interior Trim.
  5. Slide the cargo lamp up out of the trim panel.

  6. Object Number: 71241  Size: SH
  7. Disconnect the electrical harness from the latch.
  8. Remove the bolts attaching the latch.
  9. Remove the latch.

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the latch to the latch bracket.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the bolts attaching the latch.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the latch mounting bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  5. Connect the electrical harness to the latch.

  7. Install the cargo lamp to the trim panel.

  8. Object Number: 193338  Size: SH
  9. Install the rear/end corner carpet trim panel. Refer to Rear Corner Trim Panel Carpet Replacement in Interior Trim.
  10. Install the rear floor side stowage compartment cover.
