Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 71250  Size: SH
  1. Remove the wheelhouse liner panel. Refer to Wheelhouse Panel Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 63719  Size: SH
  3. Remove the bolts attaching the quarter panel to the rear compartment brace.
  4. Remove the fuel system vent, (right brace only).

  5. Object Number: 71253  Size: SH
  6. Remove the nuts attaching the rear compartment brace to the floor studs.
  7. Remove the brace.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 71253  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the brace and attaching nuts to the floor panel studs.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the rear compartment brace to floor nuts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  3. Install the fuel system vent, (right brace only).

  4. Object Number: 63719  Size: SH
  5. Install the bolts attaching the quarter panel to the rear compartment brace.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the quarter panel to rear compartment brace bolts to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

  7. Install the wheelhouse liner panel. Refer to Wheelhouse Panel Replacement .
