Subject: | Service VME - Exhaust Jingle Noise Under Deceleration - decelerate rattle resonance vibration |
Models: | . |
When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.
A Corvette may exhibit a concern described as a jingle noise during decel. This noise is often described as a jingle, similar to the sound made by shaking a key ring.
This noise appears to be coming from the exhaust system. The noise is not an indication of anything being loose or broken. Engineering is currently working to root cause this concern and develop a solution for this concern for all Corvette engine combinations (a change from the previous PI).
More information regarding these vehicles is forthcoming and this PI will be updated accordingly.
DO NOT replace any exhaust components as this will not correct the condition.
Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance. This diagnostic approach was developed for the vehicle with the VIN you entered and should not be automatically be used for other vehicles with similar symptoms.
