This is a service VME involving 1997 - 2003 Corvettes

I have received several calls regarding Corvette wheels with peeling chrome. The 1997 - 2003 Corvette have not been offered with factory installed chrome wheels as original equipment. The only three types of wheels available for the 1997 - 2003 Corvette, are, painted aluminum, polished aluminum, or painted magnesium. If you encounter a 1997 - 2003 Corvette with chrome wheels, the wheels are either aftermarket wheels or factory wheels that have been chromed by an outside source. GM should not consider a concern with chrome wheels a warrantable item.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
