When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.
The convertible top 5th bow material may contact the top stowage compartment lid, approx. 0.25 inch rearward of the protector/molding strip and damage the paint.
TSB 02-08-111-001 should be followed and SI document number 792918 should be reviewed. If the desired clearance (2 to 3 mm / 0.08 to 0.12 in) is not achieved, the #5 bow may need to be slightly bent. Perform the following steps:
Several attempts and a lot of patience may be needed to attain the correct fit pattern. A rubber mallet or a piece of 2x4 wrapped in a rag may be used in place of the rolled up towel. If the #5 bow was already adjusted too low, the #5 bow weatherstrip may be compressed and in need of replacement to allow for proper adjustment. Utilize part number 10319827 per the TSB above. NOTE: The 5th bow pressure link has a plastic sleeve/socket that the 5th bow ball rotates in. To avoid cracking this sleeve, the 11 mm pressure link should be held in place while the 13mm jam nut is loosened to allow movement of the larger 15mm adjustment nut.
