    • J 8092 Universal Driver Handle
    • J 23907 Slide Hammer
    • J 39439-2 Bushing Remover
    • J 39790 Mainshaft Bearing Race Remover
    • J 39791 Countershaft Bearing Race Remover

  1. Remove the transmission case fill plug (1) (MM6 only).
  2. Remove the temperature switch (2) (M12 only).

    3. Object Number: 38364 Size: SH
  3. Remove the reverse lamp switch.

    4. Object Number: 38365 Size: SH
  4. Remove the dowel pins.

    5. Object Number: 38376 Size: SH

    Important: Do not replace the bearing race unless inspection shows bearing race damage.

  5. Remove the countershaft bearing race, using the J 8092 and the J 39791 .

    6. Object Number: 38370 Size: SH

    Important: Do not replace the bearing race unless inspection shows bearing race damage.

  6. Remove the mainshaft bearing race, using the J 8092 and the J 39790 .

    7. Object Number: 38371 Size: SH
  7. Remove the 1st/2nd and the 3rd/4th shift shaft bushings, using the J 23907 and the J 39439-2 .

    • J 39439-2 Bushing Remover

  1. Remove the neutral return cam.
  2. Remove the neutral return cam spring retaining bolt and washer.
  3. Remove the neutral return cam spring.

    4. Object Number: 350571 Size: SH
  4. Remove the input shaft bearing race and the shim.

    5. Object Number: 350574 Size: SH
  5. Remove the countershaft bearing race and the shim.

    6. Object Number: 105695 Size: SH
  6. Remove the adapter plate plug.

    7. Object Number: 350576 Size: SH
  7. Remove the input shaft seal.

    8. Object Number: 388468 Size: SH

    Important: Do not replace the bushing unless inspection shows bushing damage.

  8. Remove the 1st/2nd and the 3rd/4th shift shaft bushing, using the J 23907 with the J 39439-2 .

    9. Object Number: 388474 Size: SH
  9. Remove the 1st/2nd and the 3rd/4th shift shaft seals (1) and (2).

    10. Object Number: 350579 Size: SH
  10. Remove the dowel pins.

  1. Remove the transmission case fill plug.

    Important: Do not replace the bearing race unless inspection shows bearing race damage.

  4. Remove the countershaft bearing race, using the J 8092 and the J 39791 .

    Important: Do not replace the bearing race unless inspection shows bearing race damage.

  5. Remove the mainshaft bearing race, using the J 8092 and the J 39790 .

    6. Object Number: 38371 Size: SH
  6. Remove the Ist/2nd and the 3rd/4th shift shaft bushings, using the J 23907 and the J 39439-2 .
