Circuit Description

The head-up display (HUD) monitors the page switch signal circuit in order to perform the switch functions. When the HUD page switch is depressed and the ignition is in the RUN position, the switch signal to the HUD is low. When the HUD detects that the HUD page switch is low for greater than 60 seconds, DTC B3619 sets.

This diagnostic procedure supports the following DTC:

Conditions for Running the DTC

The ignition is RUN.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

The HUD detects that the HUD page switch signal circuit is low for greater than 60 seconds.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

The HUD ignores the malfunctioning switch circuit.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC
    • The current DTC clears when fault is no longer present but all history codes remain.
    • The HUD receives a clear code command from the scan tool.

  1. Turn On the ignition, with the engine ON.
  2. Press the HUD page switch to change between modes displayed on the HUD.

Does the HUD page switch operate correctly?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Install a scan tool.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. With the scan tool, observe the Page Switch parameter in the IPC HUD Data List.
  5. Press and release the HUD page switch and observe the Page Switch parameter display ACTIVE and INACTIVE on the scan tool when pressed and released.

Does the HUD page switch parameter display only ACTIVE when the page switch is pressed and released?

Test the HUD page switch signal circuit for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the HUD switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Use the scan tool in order to clear the DTCs.
  2. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC as specified in the supporting text.

Does the DTC reset?

System OK
