Removal Procedure

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
  3. Drain the coolant system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
  4. Remove the air inlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls - 6.0L..
  5. Disconnect the upper radiator hose. Refer to Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement in Engine Cooling.

  6. Object Number: 932444  Size: SH
  7. Disconnect the surge tank inlet hose. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose/Pipe Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  8. Position both hoses aside in order to gain access.
  9. Remove the belt from the tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement - Accessory in Engine Mechanical - 6.0L.

  11. Disconnect the brake fluid pressure sensor connector.
  12. Loosen the two insulator nuts located on each side of the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV).

  14. Disconnect and plug the brake pipes that enter the BPMV from the master cylinder (1).

  16. Disconnect and plug the brake pipes that enter the BPMV from the front and rear calipers, noting their locations (1).
  17. Disconnect the electronic brake control module (EBCM) connector.
  18. Remove the BPMV/EBCM.

Installation Procedure

  1. Connect the EBCM connector.

  2. Object Number: 1274762  Size: SH
  3. Connect the brake fluid pressure sensor connector.
  4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  5. Place the BPMV in the bracket and tighten the two insulator nuts.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 12 N·m (106 lb in).

  7. Connect the brake pipes that enter the BPMV from the front and rear calipers (1).
  8. Tighten
    Tighten to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  9. Connect the brake pipes that enter the BPMV from the master cylinder (1).
  10. Tighten
    Tighten to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  11. Install the belt to the tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement - Accessory in Engine Mechanical - 6.0L.
  12. Connect the upper radiator hose. Refer to Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement in Engine Cooling.

  14. Connect the surge tank inlet hose. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose/Pipe Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  15. Install the air inlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls - 6.0L..
  16. Fill the coolant system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
  17. Bleed the brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding in Hydraulic Brakes.
