Catalytic Converter Replacement Left

1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
2. Remove the intermediate pipes. Refer to Intermediate Pipe Replacement .
3. Remove the oxygen sensors from the left catalytic convertor.

•	For Bank 1, sensor 1, refer to Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement - Bank 1 Sensor 1 in Engine Controls - 6.0L.

•	For Bank 1, sensor 2, refer to Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement - Bank 1 Sensor 2 in Engine Controls - 6.0L.

Important: DO NOT reuse the gasket between the catalytic convertor and the exhaust manifold. Use new only.

4. Remove the mounting nuts (3) and gasket (1) from the exhaust manifold.
5. Remove the catalytic convertor (2) from the vehicle.

1. Install the NEW exhaust seal. Refer to Exhaust Seal Replacement .
2. Install the NEW exhaust gasket (1) on the catalytic convertor (2).
3. Position the catalytic convertor (2) on the exhaust manifold.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

4. Install the mounting nuts (3) for the catalytic convertor (2).

Tighten
Tighten the mounting nuts to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

5. Install the oxygen sensors in the left catalytic convertor.

•	For Bank 1, sensor 1, refer to Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement - Bank 1 Sensor 1 in Engine Controls - 6.0L.

•	For Bank 1, sensor 2, refer to Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement - Bank 1 Sensor 2 in Engine Controls - 6.0L.

6. Install the intermediate pipes. Refer to Intermediate Pipe Replacement .
7. Lower the vehicle.

Catalytic Converter Replacement Right

1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
2. Remove the intermediate pipes. Refer to Intermediate Pipe Replacement .
3. Remove the oxygen sensors.

•	For Bank 2, sensor 1, refer to Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement - Bank 2 Sensor 1 in Engine Controls - 6.0L.

•	For Bank 2, sensor 2, refer to Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement - Bank 2 Sensor 2 in Engine Controls - 6.0L.

Important: DO NOT reuse the gasket between the catalytic convertor and the exhaust manifold. Use new only.

4. Remove the mounting nuts (3) and gasket (1) from the exhaust manifold.
5. Remove the catalytic convertor (2) from the vehicle.

1. Install the NEW exhaust gasket (1) on the catalytic convertor (2).
2. Position the catalytic convertor (2) on the exhaust manifold.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

3. Install the mounting nuts (3) for the catalytic convertor.

Tighten
Tighten the mounting nuts (3) to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

4. Install the oxygen sensors.

•	For Bank 2, sensor 1, refer to Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement - Bank 2 Sensor 1 in Engine Controls - 6.0L.

•	For Bank 2, sensor 2, refer to Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement - Bank 2 Sensor 2 in Engine Controls - 6.0L.

5. Install the intermediate pipes. Refer to Intermediate Pipe Replacement .
6. Lower the vehicle.
