Erratic or Inoperative Oil Pressure Gauge - kw GMX245 short open LS2 IPC fluctuation cluster

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom described in the PI.

Engine oil pressure gauge may be inoperative or erratic.

If oil pressure gauge is found to be inoperative or erratic, inspect the engine wiring harness for chaffing at the left cylinder head. Inspect the oil pressure gauge signal circuit # 331, (a tan/white wire) for a ground or open. If a ground or open is found in circuit # 331, repair the wiring harness following proper SI wiring repair procedures

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance.
