Subject: | Actual Outside Temperature Does Not Match Temperature Reading on Interior Display -- Normal Operating Characteristics |
Models: | 2004-2005 Cadillac XLR |
Some customers may comment that the temperature reading displayed on the inside of the vehicle is significantly different than the actual outside temperature. THIS IS THE NORMAL OPERATING CHARACTERISTIC OF THE SYSTEM. NO CORRECTION
IS REQUIRED.
When a vehicle is parked, there is a buffer that retains the last temperature recorded. The next time the vehicle is started, the interior display will show the last recorded temperature, which can be significantly higher or lower than the actual temperature.
This will be displayed for a couple of minutes while the vehicle is allowed to draw fresh ambient air over the temperature sensor to update the reading.
