The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in the PI.
Condition/Concern:
The customer concern may be a reduced power message, SES light on, and an erratic oil pressure gauge reading.
Recommendation/Instructions:
If a reduced power message, SES light on, and a erratic oil pressure gauge reading has been duplicated and DTC P0641 is set, inspect the wiring harness behind the left cylinder head.
It is possible that circuit number 2705 (grey wire) which is the five volt reference circuit for the engine oil pressure switch to be chafed to the back of the left cylinder head.
Follow SI instructions and repair the wiring as needed. Insulate the harness with wiring conduit or a suitable material.
Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
