Subject:Revised Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure

Models:2005 Chevrolet Corvette

This bulletin is being issued to revise the Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect procedure in the Engine Electrical sub-section of the Service Manual. Please replace the current information in the Service Manual with the following information.

The following information has been updated within SI. If you are using a paper version of this Service Manual, please make a reference to this bulletin on the affected page.

A "Refer to" link to Reinitialization of the Power Window has been added to Step 5 on the Installation Procedure.

This information applies under the following conditions:

   •

the battery is disconnected;

   •

the battery is in a run-down condition and requires a charge (such as in an extended storage period);

   •

the window module has been disconnected.

If the window module loses battery power, the window module needs to be reinitialized. To reinitialize a power window, follow these steps:

  1. Close the door for the window being reinitialized.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. Run the window to the full up position and hold the switch continuously for a minimum of 0.5 seconds.
  4. Run the window to the full down position and hold the switch continuously for a minimum of 0.5 seconds.
