Cross Drill Brake Rotors Rotational Appearance - keywords direction disc front hole left rear right rotation rotor Z06 Z51

Subject:Cross Drill Brake Rotors Rotational Appearance

Models:2005-2006 Chevrolet Corvette

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

When inspecting a 2005 or 2006 Corvette equipped with cross drilled brake rotors, the cross drilling of the rotor on the right side is pointed in the opposite direction compared to the cross drilling of the rotor on the left side. This would make the rotor appear to be installed on the wrong side of the vehicle. The cross drilled rotors are standard on vehicles with RPO Z51 and also standard on the Z06.

Recommendation/Instructions:

This is the normal appearance of cross drilled rotors on the 2005-2006 Corvette. No repairs are to be attempted.

Note: When replacing a rotor, the parts catalog has the same part number for the left and right side of the vehicle. However the part number between the front and rear rotors are different.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
