This PI is being updated to include closing procedures on vehicles equipped with an electric pull down. Please discard PIC3702A.
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
The purpose of this PI if to clarify the owners manual operation of the electric trunk pull down feature. When in doubt, refer to Dealer World "Online Order Guide" for clarification.
Recommendation/Instructions:
The electric trunk pull down feature is only available on the 2005-2007 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe. The Z06 and Convertible will not have this feature. Do not attempt to "up fit" or modify any vehicle with this feature.
When using this feature, it is recommended that the following closing procedure is followed..
Lower the hatch until the sticker contacts the latch. Once contact is made, apply palm pressure to the hatch (above the sticker) downward until the pull down takes over. The electric pull down feature will not work when the rear hatch is closed with excessive force.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
