Rear Back Glass Has A Wavy Or Distorted Appearance - keywords window

This PI is being superseded to advise appearance is normal due to glass is concave, and to update Model Years. Please discard PIC3334.

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Some customers may state that the rear back glass has a wavy or distorted appearance. Distortion in the center of the back glass exists because the glass is concave in that area for aero dynamics. All Corvettes will exhibit some amount of distortion there.

Some amount of distortion is normal because the glass is bent on two different planes. Distortion where the glass is bent on the sides is not correctable. All Corvettes will exhibit some amount of distortion there. The amount of distortion should be compared to other vehicles to determine if it is worse. Please be advised that replacing the back glass with another does not guarantee that the replacement will be better than the original.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
