The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Some customers may comment that when attempting to use the trip odometer to track maintenance intervals per the owners manual, the trip odometer will reset and count from zero again after the trip odometer (A or B) exceeds 2000 miles (3218 km).

This is the normal operation characteristics of the trip odometer (A and B). The owner's manual will be corrected in Service Information to reflect this operation. No repair attempts should be made for this concern. It will be the customer's responsibility to document odometer readings and follow the appropriate Maintenance Schedule in their owner's manual.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
