The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
The purpose of this document is to clarify the owner's manual operation of the electric trunk pull down feature. When in doubt, refer to Dealer World "Online Order Guide" for clarification.
Recommendation/Instructions:
The electric trunk pull down feature is only available on the 2005-2008 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe. The Z06 and Convertible models do not have this feature. Do not attempt to "up fit" or modify any vehicle with this feature.
When using this feature, it is recommended that the following closing procedure is followed...
Lower the hatch until the striker contacts the latch. Once contact is made, apply palm pressure to the hatch (above the striker) downward until the pull down takes over. The electric pull down feature will not work when the rear hatch is closed with excessive force.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
