Subject:No Crank No Start and No DTC Stored

Models:2005-2008 Chevrolet Corvette equipped with Automatic Transmission Only.



The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

No crank no start and no DTCs stored. This concern may be intermittent and difficult to diagnose. This concern may be caused by an open Park Neutral circuit to the ECM (Engine Control Module). This input can be viewed in the Tech 2 however is easily over looked in diagnostics. The data parameter is referred by the Tech2 as the "PNP Switch (If Equipped)".

Recommendation/Instructions:

Place the transmission into "Park". Using the Tech2, monitor the status of the "PNP Switch (If Equipped)" parameter in the ECM Data Display. If this parameter reads "In Gear", inspect circuit 1786 for an open circuit or poor terminal contacts.

Refer to SI Document 1894286 and 1894320 for schematics.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
