The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Some customers may comment of a pop or creak noise from the removable roof equipped with new, non roller type roof latches. This may be the result of a contact issue at the latch plates or the rear guide pins of the removable roof.

Recommendation/Instructions:

To correct this concern, lubricate the latch plates on the header and the rear guide pins with GM Super Lube or 3M Clear Silicone Paste or equivalent.

Note: The lubrication of the latches is also outlined in bulletin 08-08-67-013A as part of the procedure when installing new handles. Bowling Green Assembly changed production to utilize the new handles outlined in bulletin 08-08-67-013A on or near August 1st, 2008. It is imperative that proper lubrication of the latches is performed.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
