Instrument Panel Inflatable Restraint Module Replacement for Chevrolet Corvette 2006

Caution: Refer to SIR Inflator Module Handling and Storage Caution in the Preface section.

Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in the Preface section.

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
2. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) assembly. Refer to Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
3. Remove the connector position assurance (CPA) from the I/P module harness connector.
4. Disconnect the pigtail connector (4) from the I/P module.



5. Remove the mounting fasteners from the I/P module.
6. Remove the I/P module from the bracket.
7. Fully deploy the module before disposal. If the module was replaced under warranty, fully deploy and dispose of the module after the required retention period. Refer to Inflator Module Handling and Scrapping .

1. Install the I/P module to the bracket.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

2. Install the I/P module mounting fasteners. Tighten the fasteners in the order shown in the graphic.

Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

3. Connect the pigtail connector (4) to the I/P module.
4. Install the CPA to the harness connector on the I/P module.
5. Install the I/P assembly. Refer to Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
6. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
