Exhaust Muffler Replacement - Left Side. Chevrolet Corvette 2007

For 1990-2009 cars only

Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
On automatic transmission equipped vehicles, it may be necessary to lower the rear suspension crossmember to provide clearance for removal of the exhaust muffler. Refer to Rear Suspension Support Crossmember Replacement .
Remove the intermediate pipe. Refer to Intermediate Pipe Replacement .
On the 7.0L engines, disconnect the vacuum line from the muffler assembly.
Remove the left muffler from the hangers (3).
Remove the left muffler (1).

Using a wire brush, clean the contact area of the intermediate pipe for the muffler.
Install the left muffler (1) to the hangers (3).
On the 7.0L engines, connect the vacuum line to the muffler assembly .
Install the intermediate pipe. Refer to Intermediate Pipe Replacement .
On automatic transmission equipped vehicles, install the rear suspension crossmember if lowered to provide clearance for removal of the exhaust muffler. Refer to Rear Suspension Support Crossmember Replacement .
Lower the vehicle.
