Circuit/System Description

The window switches are contained within the driver door switch assembly (DDSA). The DDSA internally supplies power and ground to the contacts of each of the integral window switches. When one of the switches is operated, the switch contacts close, providing the DDSA with a specific window switch signal. The DDSA processes this signal, assigns a digital message to it, and sends the message to the driver door module (DDM) or passenger door module (PDM) via the class 2 serial data circuit. The door module, upon receiving the message, examines other relevant information available on the class 2 serial data line in order to determine if conditions are correct for window operation to occur. If conditions are correct, the door module applies power and ground to the associated window motor and circuits in order to move the window. For more detailed information concerning power window operation refer to Power Windows Description and Operation .

Conditions for Running the DTC

Battery voltage must be between 9-16 volts.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

    • The DDSA detects that the switch contacts are activated.
    • Condition must be present for greater than 30 seconds.

Actions Taken When the DTC Sets

Stores DTC B3377, B3382, B3387, B3392, B3467 or B3472 in DDSA memory.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

    • The condition responsible for setting the DTC no longer exists.
    • You issue a scan tool CLEAR DTCs command.

Diagnostic Aids

The following conditions may cause an intermittent malfunction:
