Valve Rocker Arm Cover Removal - Right Side 7.0L
Important: Do not remove the oil cap from the cover, unless service is required. If the oil cap has been removed from the cover, the locking features of the cap will be damaged and no longer functional.
If the cap has
been removed, install a NEW cap during assembly.
- Remove the spark plug wires (724).
- Remove the ignition coil bracket studs (720).
- Remove the ignition coil and bracket assembly (719).
- Disconnect the ignition coil electrical connectors.
- Remove the bolts (723), coils (722), and wire harness (721) from the bracket, as required.
- Remove the valve rocker arm cover bolts (516) and cover (505).
- Remove and discard the valve rocker arm cover gasket, valve rocker arm cover grommets and valve rocker arm cover bolts if they are serviced with the grommet.
- Remove the gasket (504) from the cover.
Important: If the oil cap is removed from the cover, install a NEW cap during assembly.
- Remove the oil cap (424) and seal (450) from the cover, only if replacement is required.
- Discard the oil cap.
Valve Rocker Arm Cover Removal - Right Side 6.2L
Important: Do not remove the oil fill tube from the cover unless service is required. If the oil fill tube has been removed from the cover, install a NEW tube during assembly.
- Remove the spark plug wires (724).
- Remove the ignition coil bracket studs (720).
- Remove the ignition coil and bracket assembly (719).
- Disconnect the ignition coil electrical connectors.
- Remove the bolts (723), coils (722), and wire harness (721) from the bracket, as required.
- Remove the valve rocker arm cover bolts (516) and cover (505).
- Remove and discard the valve rocker arm cover gasket, valve rocker arm cover grommets and valve rocker arm cover bolts if they are serviced with the grommet.
- Remove the gasket (504) from the cover.
- Remove the oil fill cap (424) from the oil fill tube (423).
- Remove the oil fill tube, as required.
- Discard the oil fill tube (423) and O-ring (422).
