Camshaft Removal 6.2L


    Object Number: 1969013 Size: SH
  1. Remove the camshaft retainer bolts (204) and retainer (203).

    2. Object Number: 1704626 Size: SH

    Notice: All camshaft journals are the same diameter, so care must be used in removing or installing the camshaft to avoid damage to the camshaft bearings.

  2. Remove the camshaft.
    3. 2.1. Install the camshaft sprocket bolt into the camshaft front bolt hole.
    2.2. Using the bolt as a handle, carefully rotate and pull the camshaft out of the engine block.
    2.3. Remove the bolt from the front of the camshaft.

  1. Remove the camshaft retainer bolts (204) and retainer (203).

    Notice: All camshaft journals are the same diameter, so care must be used in removing or installing the camshaft to avoid damage to the camshaft bearings.

  2. Remove the camshaft.
    3. 2.1. Install the 3 M8-1.25 x 100 mm bolts into the camshaft front bolt holes.
    2.2. Using the bolts as a handle, carefully rotate and pull the camshaft out of the engine block.
    2.3. Remove the bolts from the front of the camshaft.
