Oil Pan Cleaning and Inspection 7.0L


    Object Number: 1552464  Size: SH
  1. Remove the oil filter fitting (438), as required.

  2. Object Number: 1552466  Size: SH
  3. Remove the oil pump suction pipe (407), bolts (405), and gasket (406).
  4. Clean the suction pipe and inspect for debris, restrictions, or other damage.

  5. Object Number: 1552467  Size: SH
  6. Clean the oil pan in solvent.
  7. Caution: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution in the Preface section.

  8. Dry the oil pan with compressed air.
  9. Inspect the oil pan for the following conditions:
  10. • Damaged gasket surfaces (1)
    • Restrictions within the oil passages (2) of the pan
    • Damaged oil filter seal surface (3)
    • Threaded bolt holes (4) for damage

  11. Inspect the oil pan internal oil passages (1-4) for restrictions.

  12. Object Number: 1552470  Size: SH
  13. Inspect the oil hose mating surfaces (1) for scoring or other damage.

  14. Object Number: 1552468  Size: SH
  15. Inspect the oil pan plug (457) for a loose fit or leakage.

Oil Pan Cleaning and Inspection 6.2L

  1. Remove the oil filter fitting (1), as required. Refer to Oil Filter Removal .

  2. Object Number: 1408875  Size: SH
  3. Clean the oil pan in solvent.
  4. Caution: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution in the Preface section.

  5. Dry the oil pan with compressed air.
  6. Inspect the oil pan for the following conditions:
  7. • Damaged gasket surfaces (1)
    • Restrictions within the oil passages (2) of the pan
    • Damaged oil filter seal surface (3)
    • Threaded bolt holes (4) for damage
