The passenger door lock switch signal circuits provide inputs to the passenger door module (PDM) when the passenger door lock switch is activated to the Lock or Unlock position. These inputs allow the PDM to detect a door Lock or Unlock request. The PDM provides power to the passenger door lock switch. When the PDM detects low voltage on a signal circuit, it will send a message on the serial data line to the remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR) to enter the power door latches in Lock or Unlock status.
Battery voltage must be between 9-16 volts.
The PDM detects a short to ground on the passenger door lock switch lock or unlock signal circuit for greater than 30 seconds.
The passenger door lock switch will malfunction.
• | The DTC will be current for as long as the fault is present. |
• | When the fault is no longer present, the DTC will be a history DTC. |
• | A history DTC will clear after 50 ignition cycles. |

Ignition ON, observe the scan tool Door Lock Switch parameter while using the passenger door lock switch. The parameter should change from Idle to Lock and Unlock when changing between the commanded states.
⇒ | If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance. |
⇒ | If not the specified value, test the signal circuit listed below for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the PDM. |
• | Signal circuit terminal D |
• | Signal circuit terminal E |
⇒ | If less than the specified value, replace the passenger door lock switch. |
⇒ | If greater than the specified range, replace the passenger door lock switch. |
⇒ | If greater than the specified range, replace the passenger door lock switch. |
Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification after completing the diagnostic procedure.
