- Remove the reverse idler shaft bracket bolts.
- Remove the reverse idler gear and the roller bearing.
- Remove the reverse idler shaft using a suitable tool.
- Remove the countershaft rear bearing retainer.
- Cut away plastic roller bearing cage and remove the bearings. Discard the cage and the bearings.
- Install J 45124 (1), J-45124-9 (2), and J 29369-2 (3) in the extension bearing race and on the extension housing.
- Remove the countershaft extension bearing race. Discard the bearing race.
- Remove the oil funnel from the bearing assembly.
- Using J 39439-2 (2) and J 23907 (1) , remove the bushing.
- Remove the output shaft outer and inner seals.
- Remove the mainshaft bearing race retainer ring.
- Remove the mainshaft bearing race using J 26941 and J 23907 .
Pry out the seal with a suitable tool.
Important: Do not replace the bearing race unless inspection shows bearing race damage.
