  1. Remove the reverse idler shaft bracket bolts.

  2. Object Number: 1938443  Size: SH
  3. Remove the reverse idler gear and the roller bearing.

  4. Object Number: 1938444  Size: SH
  5. Remove the reverse idler shaft using a suitable tool.

  6. Object Number: 1998736  Size: SH
  7. Remove the countershaft rear bearing retainer.
  8. Cut away plastic roller bearing cage and remove the bearings. Discard the cage and the bearings.

  9. Object Number: 1938445  Size: SH
  10. Install J 45124  (1), J-45124-9  (2), and J 29369-2  (3) in the extension bearing race and on the extension housing.
  11. Remove the countershaft extension bearing race. Discard the bearing race.

  12. Object Number: 1887608  Size: SH
  13. Remove the oil funnel from the bearing assembly.

  14. Object Number: 1938447  Size: SH
  15. Using J 39439-2  (2) and J 23907  (1) , remove the bushing.

  16. Object Number: 1833701  Size: SH
  17. Remove the output shaft outer and inner seals.
  18. Pry out the seal with a suitable tool.


    Object Number: 1887609  Size: SH
  19. Remove the mainshaft bearing race retainer ring.
  20. Important: Do not replace the bearing race unless inspection shows bearing race damage.

  21. Remove the mainshaft bearing race using J 26941 and J 23907 .
