Interior Light Above Center Console Inoperative - keywords ambient anchor clip courtesy flood inside lamp mirror missing passenger rear rearview right roof shade stack sun sunshade view visor

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Some customers may comment that the light above the center console area is inoperative. This lamp is referred to as a "Flood Lamp" in SI and an "Ambient Light" in the customer's owner's manual. This light would illuminate the area were the HVAC Vents, RADIO, HVAC Controller and Center Console or Center Stack all come together in the instrument panel. This would most likely be a previous Corvette owner that is familiar with this feature. This light was eliminated on vehicles built around the February 2008 timeframe. Comparing to a like vehicle would not be an option unless the vehicle was built after February 2008.

This is Normal operation and no repairs should be performed. The harness was eliminated and it is recommended that the dealer or customer do not attempt to add the light.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
