J 41712 Oil Pressure Sensor Socket

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 63936  Size: SH
  1. Remove the left engine sight cover. Refer to Upper Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement.
  2. Clean area around the oil sensor/switch before removing it.
  3. Remove the vacuum hose for the power brake booster.

  4. Object Number: 1656451  Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the electrical connector for the oil pressure sensor/switch (2).

  6. Object Number: 1658870  Size: SH
  7. Using the J 41712 (1) , remove the oil pressure sensor/switch.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1658870  Size: SH
  1. If installing the old sensor, apply threadlocker sealant. Refer to Diagnostic Starting Point - Engine Mechanical for the correct part number.
  2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Using the J 41712 (1), install the oil pressure sensor/switch.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the engine oil pressure sensor to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  5. Reconnect the oil pressure sensor/switch electrical connector (2).

  6. Object Number: 63936  Size: SH
  7. Install the vacuum hose for the power brake booster.
  8. Install the left engine sight cover. Refer to Upper Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement.

Procedure

  1. Disconnect any electrical connectors.
  2. Transfer components as necessary.

Tighten
35 N·m (25 lb ft)
