DTC Descriptor

DTC P164B: Fuel Pump Driver Control Module Read Only Memory (ROM)

DTC P164C: Fuel Pump Driver Control Module Random Access Memory (RAM)

Circuit/System Description

The control module runs a program to detect an internal fault when power up is commanded.

Conditions for Running the DTC

Ignition ON.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

The FPCM relay has detected an internal malfunction.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

The module may have limited functional operation depending on the severity of the calibration corruption.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

    • A DTC clears when the malfunction is no longer present.
    • A history DTC clears when the module ignition cycle counter reaches the reset threshold, without a repeat of the malfunction.

Circuit/System Verification

Verify that DTC P164B or DTC P164C is not set.

If the DTC is set, replace the fuel pump control module relay.
