Removal
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
in Engine Electrical.
- Remove the air cleaner housing mounting bolts (1).
- Remove the air cleaner snorkel mounting bolts (2).
- Disconnect the air cleaner tube (1).
- Remove the air cleaner and snorkel assembly.
- Disconnect the electronic brake control module
(EBCM) electrical connector (2).
- Remove the EBCM attaching bolts (1).
- Remove the EBCM.
Installation
- Install the EBCM.
- Install the EBCM attaching bolts (1).
Tighten
Tighten the EBCM attaching bolts to 4-6N·m (35-53 lb. in.)
- Connect the electronic brake control module (EBCM) electrical connector (2).
- Install the air cleaner and snorkel assembly.
- Connect the air cleaner tube (1).
- Install the air cleaner snorkel mounting bolts (2).
Tighten
Tighten the air cleaner snorkel mounting bolts to 10N·m (89 lb. in.)
- Install the air cleaner housing mounting bolts (1).
Tighten
Tighten the air cleaner housing mounting bolts to 10N·m (89 lb. in.)
- Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
in Engine Electrical.
Important: The ABS/TCS indicators should illuminate for four seconds immediately after
the ignition has been turn On to show that the ABS self-test is being carried out.
If the light does not go Off after this time, it means there may be a problem and
the ABS/TCS may not operate.
- Turn the ignition ON and verify operation of ABS lamp.
- Using a scan tool, check for DTCs. Erase all history DTCs.
