Removal

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.

  2. Object Number: 1537850  Size: SH
  3. Remove the air cleaner housing mounting bolts (1).
  4. Remove the air cleaner snorkel mounting bolts (2).

  5. Object Number: 1537851  Size: SH
  6. Disconnect the air cleaner tube (1).
  7. Remove the air cleaner and snorkel assembly.

  8. Object Number: 1537852  Size: SH
  9. Disconnect the electronic brake control module (EBCM) electrical connector (2).
  10. Remove the EBCM attaching bolts (1).
  11. Remove the EBCM.

Installation

  1. Install the EBCM.

  2. Object Number: 1537852  Size: SH
  3. Install the EBCM attaching bolts (1).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the EBCM attaching bolts to 4-6N·m (35-53 lb. in.)

  5. Connect the electronic brake control module (EBCM) electrical connector (2).

  6. Object Number: 1537851  Size: SH
  7. Install the air cleaner and snorkel assembly.
  8. Connect the air cleaner tube (1).

  9. Object Number: 1537850  Size: SH
  10. Install the air cleaner snorkel mounting bolts (2).
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the air cleaner snorkel mounting bolts to 10N·m (89 lb. in.)

  12. Install the air cleaner housing mounting bolts (1).
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the air cleaner housing mounting bolts to 10N·m (89 lb. in.)

  14. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
  15. Important: The ABS/TCS indicators should illuminate for four seconds immediately after the ignition has been turn On to show that the ABS self-test is being carried out. If the light does not go Off after this time, it means there may be a problem and the ABS/TCS may not operate.

  16. Turn the ignition ON and verify operation of ABS lamp.
  17. Using a scan tool, check for DTCs. Erase all history DTCs.
