For 1990-2009 cars only
- Install the exhaust manifold gasket.
- Install the exhaust manifold.
- Install the exhaust manifold retaining nuts and tighten in the sequence shown.
- Install the auxiliary catalytic converter upper flange nuts.
- Install the exhaust manifold heat shield.
- Install the exhaust manifold heat shield bolts.
- Connect the oxygen sensor connector, if equipped.
- Connect the negative battery.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
Tighten
Tighten the exhaust manifold retaining nuts 22 N·m (16 lb ft).
Tighten
Tighten the auxiliary catalytic converter-to-exhaust manifold nuts to 40 N·m
(30 lb ft).
Tighten
Tighten the exhaust manifold heat shield bolts to 8 N·m (71 lb in).
