Driver Seat Belt Reminder
Caution: To help avoid personal injury from unrepaired crash damage to a restraint system, perform the seat belt check for each seat belt system. Replace the seat belt system if there is any doubt about the condition of system components.

The driver's safety belt incorporates a safety belt reminder light in the instrument panel (I/P) cluster to remind the driver if the safety belt is not fastened when the ignition is turned ON.
Pretensioner Front Seat Belt
Caution: Perform this test in an area clear of other vehicles and/or obstructions. Do not conduct this test on the open road. A large, empty parking lot is suitable. Failure to observe this precaution may result in damage to the vehicle and possible personal injury.
The pretensioner front seat belt is standard. It contains a mechanically controlled pyrotechnical retractor which reduces the seat belt slack when it is activated in a head-on or angled front collision. The pretensioner front seat belt must be replaced after an accident that causes its activation.
Three-Point ELR Rear Seat
Three-point emergency locking retractor (ELR) seat belts are standard for the front seat passenger and the rear seat outboard passenger positions.
The ELR seat belt has emergency locking retractor mode.
Normally, the seat belt operates in the ELR mode. This allows the passenger freedom of movement, except in emergency situations.
Operational Checks
| • | Keep sharp objects and potentially damaging objects away from the seat belts. |
| • | Avoid bending or damaging any portion of the buckle or the latch plate. |
| • | Do not bleach or dye the belt webbing. Use only mild soap and water in order to clean the belts. |
| • | When installing the seat belt anchor bolts and the screws, start the bolts and the screws by hand in order to prevent cross-threading. |
| • | Do not attempt any repairs on the retractor mechanisms or the covers. Replace any defective assemblies with new assemblies. |
| • | Replace any belts that are cut or damaged in any way. |
- Inspect all seat belt anchor bolts and the screws in order to verify that they are secure.
- Inspect the seat belt buckle. The buckle must lock and unlock easily.
- After inserting the latch into the buckle, tug sharply on the belt. The buckle must remain locked.
- Fully extend the shoulder belt portion to make sure that there is no twisting or tears in the belt.
- Let the shoulder belt retract fully. The belt should retract easily.
Child Seat Tether Anchor
There are 3 child seat tether anchors on the back shelf. There is 1 anchor for each rear seat position.
