Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the power steering pump, if equipped. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement in Power Steering System.
  3. Remove the A/C compressor. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning.
  4. Remove the rear A/C compressor mounting bracket bolts and the rear A/C compressor mounting bracket.
  5. Remove the accessory mounting bracket by removing the bolts.

  7. Disconnect the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor connector.
  8. Remove the CKP sensor retaining bolt.
  9. Gently rotate and remove the CKP sensor from the engine block.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1256166  Size: SH
  1. Insert the CKP sensor into the engine block.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the CKP sensor retaining bolt.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the crankshaft position sensor retaining bolt to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  5. Connect the CKP sensor connector.
  6. Install the accessory mounting bracket with the bolts.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the accessory mounting bracket bolts to 27 N·m (37 lb ft).

  8. Install the rear A/C mounting bracket.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the rear A/C mounting bracket bolts to 35  N·m(26 lb ft).

  10. Install the A/C compressor. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning.
  11. Install the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement in Power Steering System.
  12. Connect the negative battery cable.
