The Procedure listed below needs to be performed whenever the following occurs:

    • The throttle body assembly is replaced
    • The throttle body is cleaned
    • The ECM is replaced or programmed
  1. Turn OFF all accessories.
  2. Turn ON the ignition.
  3. Turn OFF the ignition for 15 seconds.
  4. Turn ON the ignition for 5 seconds.
  5. Turn OFF the ignition for 15 seconds for engines without throttle actuator control (TAC) or 35 seconds for engines with TAC.
  6. Start the engine.
  7. While pressing the brake pedal, place the transaxle into Drive for 1 second and then return to Park.
  8. Allow the engine to run until the engine coolant temperature is more than 85°C (185°F).
  9. Turn ON the A/C for 10 seconds, if equipped.
  10. While pressing the brake pedal, place the transaxle into Drive for 10 seconds.
  11. Turn OFF the A/C for 10 seconds, if equipped.
  12. Place the transmission into Park.
  13. Turn OFF the ignition. The idle learn procedure is complete.
