Some customers may comment that the engine runs rough at idle and/or hesitates during acceleration when the engine is cold and the ambient temperature is 20-30°C (68-86°F). DTC P0300-P0306 (Engine Misfire/Cylinder 1-6 Misfire Detected) may also be set.
Reprogram the engine control module (ECM) with the appropriate calibration following the procedure below.
Important: Prior to reprogramming, check the battery voltage state. If the battery is not fully charged, charge the battery.
Important: Prior to reprogramming, make sure the Tech 2® is updated with the latest software.
The new ECM calibrations are currently available to dealerships in TIS2Web. If you cannot access the calibration, call the Techline Customer Support Center (TCSC) at 1-800-828-6860 (English) or 1-800-503-3222 (French) and it will be provided. As always, make sure your Tech 2® is updated with the latest software version.
3.1. | Turn the ignition ON with the engine OFF. |
3.2. | Reset the adaptive values using a scan tool. |
3.3. | Turn the ignition OFF for 20 seconds. |
3.4. | Turn the ignition ON for 10 seconds. |
3.5. | Turn the ignition OFF for 20 seconds. |
3.6. | Turn the ignition ON for 10 seconds. |
3.7. | Start the engine in the park/neutral position. |
3.8. | Turn the ignition OFF. The procedure is complete. |
