Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1256222 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the brake lines from the proportioning valve.
  2. Remove the nut that secures the proportioning valve to the bulkhead.

    3. Object Number: 1256223 Size: SH
  3. Remove the brake lines from the hydraulic modulator.

Installation Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Brake Fluid Caution in the Preface section.

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1256222 Size: SH
  1. Install the proportioning valve to the bulkhead.

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the proportioning valve nut to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  2. Connect the brake lines to the proportioning valve.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the proportioning valve brake lines to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  3. Install the brake lines to the hydraulic modulator.
  4. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  5. Bleed the brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding .
  6. Lower the vehicle.
