Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1860617  Size: SH
  1. Siphon the power steering fluid from the fluid reservoir.
  2. Remove the nuts from the cooling system surge tank.
  3. Push the surge tank toward the engine.
  4. Notice: Refer to Power Steering Hose Disconnected Notice in the Preface section.

  5. Loosen the hose clamps and remove both hoses from the fluid reservoir.
  6. Remove the bolts from the fluid reservoir.
  7. Remove the reservoir.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  1. Install the power steering fluid reservoir with the bolts.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the reservoir bolts to 7.5 N·m (66 lb in).

    Notice: Refer to Installing Hoses without Twists or Bends Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Connect both hoses to the fluid reservoir and secure the hose clamps.
  4. Install the surge tank with the nuts.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the surge tank nuts to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

    Notice: Refer to Using Proper Power Steering Fluid Notice in the Preface section.

  6. Fill the fluid reservoir with power steering fluid. Refer to Checking and Adding Power Steering Fluid.
  7. Notice: Refer to Air in the Power Steering System Notice in the Preface section.

  8. Bleed the system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding.
  9. Inspect for leaks. If there are leaks, correct the cause of the leaks. Refer to Power Steering Fluid Leaks.
